Frequently Asked Questions

The Process

How can I add a Bernedoodle Buddy to my family?

Please complete the application form on our website and return to us at bernedoodlebuddies@gmail.com. You will then need to complete the puppy deposit contract and place a deposit with zelle or good dog.com. Once we have received the application and the deposit we will e-mail you confirmation and place you on our list. ***Please note that your deposit will be applied to your total adoption fee.

Is my reservation fee refundable?

Reservation fees are non-refundable, but can be transferred to a future litter.

At what age can I select my Bernedoodle Buddy?

Puppies selection will be made at 7 weeks old, after temperament testing. We will go in order of deposits received.

Can I come to visit Bernedoodle Buddies and see my puppy in person and meet the parents?

We would love for you to see all of our Bernedoodle Buddies, however we cannot allow outside visitors. Parvo is a very real risk and we wouldn’t want our puppies to fall victim.  If you would like to meet at another area, we can arrange for that.

How often will you send photos of my puppy?

We strive to update puppy photos at least weekly.  We also facetime families, and schedule Instagram LIVE Sessions several times a week.  We want our families to feel involved as we raise their future fur baby!

Are my puppies parents OFA certified for hips and elbow dysplasia?

Yes, all of our parents are OFA certified.

Are the parents of my puppy genetically health tested?

Yes, the parents are genetically health tested.

At what age can my puppy leave Bernedoodle Buddies?

Puppies can leave us at 8 weeks in most cases. If our vet feels that your puppy should stay longer, you will be notified.

What if I cannot pick my puppy up on the scheduled homecoming day?

We are happy to keep your puppy for you for the boarding fee of $20.00 a day.

When will the balance be due on my puppy?

The balance is due on your puppy at 6 weeks of age. If I don’t hear from you within a week, I will assume you have decided to pass on this puppy and it will be offered to the next family on our list.

Going Home

Will my puppy come with vaccinations and be wormed?

All puppies receive a vaccination round at 7 weeks (you will need boosters and rabies vaccination once taken home) and are fully wormed and health checked by my vet.

Will I receive a copy of the vets shot record?

You will receive a complete health check up report with all shots and worming products your puppy received here. Including a Health Certificate.

Will my puppy have dew claws removed?

No, we no longer remove front or rear dew claws.  Studies have shown it can be a health detriment to remove front dew claws.

When should I take my puppy to see my vet once it arrives?

Please plan to take your puppy to the vet within the first week of arrival. (Please read over our Heath contract/purchase agreement)

Will my puppy be potty trained when I pick it up?

We work with all of our puppies on potty training. Please keep in mind puppies do not fully  understand the concept of potty training until 16 weeks of age at the earliest.

What training will my puppy receive at Bernedoodle Buddies?

All of our puppies receive eight weeks of extensive nurturing, socializing, teaching, exposing and desensitizing, early training and more.  Our days are filled with age appropriate early learning opportunities, daily 10-step puppy handling massage, sight/sound/tactile exposure, and enrichment activities.  We raise our puppies using Puppy Culture protocols & Bad Ass Breeder Methodology.  This is an incredible undertaking that leaves a lifelong impression on our puppies and prepares them to be the best buddy for your family!

An outstanding experience!

I had an outstanding experience with Rachel and her family at Bernedoodle Buddies while selecting our new F1 Standard Bernedoodle puppy. From the initial stages of choosing the puppy to the entire process leading up to bringing our furry friend home, Rachel went above and beyond to make the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. What truly sets Rachel apart is her warm and personable nature. Speaking with her felt like talking to an old friend who genuinely cares about the well-being of both the puppies and the families they go to. She was incredibly patient and thorough in answering all our questions, guiding us through the selection process, and providing valuable insights into the care and upbringing of our new puppy.

Finding Bernedoodle Buddies was a gift.

I spent weeks all over google, facebook and Instagram looking for a Bernedoodle breeder (family) and being unsure of their picking process, ethics, safety standards, health verification, being told it would be years before I would get a fur baby, or just uncomfortable with our correspondence and just getting uncomfortable vibes. I found Bernedoodle Buddies and it just clicked. Their open honestly and transparency about everything was amazing, having a Instagram where I could see daily updates about other litters gave me such warm feelings knowing I would get constant updates about my future baby.

We had the best experience!

We had the best experience with Bernedoodle buddies and couldn’t recommend them more. We brought a puppy home from them annd into our family with two very young children. From the start, the puppy came home tolerating the noise, touching, everything. We have never had a single worry about our bernedoodle around our children which is HUGE in my opinion. Our puppy came home with crate training and sleeping through the night and sit command. She picked up on her other commands very quickly andw was potty trained completely within 1.5 weeks of arriving home due to Rachel exposing her to these things before coming home.
